2015 Best Paper & Best Presentation Awards

On April 24 the Board of directors selected The Two Significant Factors for Gain Antennas by Ben Lowe, K4QF as the Best Paper for the 2015 Conference. On April 25 during the banquet, the membership selected Broad Band Preamps and Filters by Gary Green, W2ZV as the Best Presentation for the Conference. Congratulations to both for their efforts and contributions to the Conference.

Call for Papers – Deadline Approaching

Ray Rector, WA4NJP, the Technical Program Chair for the 2015 Conference announced that March 1st will be the deadline for the submission of papers for this year’s conference. The March 1st deadline date is necessary in order to have the proceedings printed by the ARRL and to have them delivered in time for the conference in April.

2015 VHF Spring Sprints

The Central States VHF Society Spring Sprint Organizing Committee has announced sponsorship and dates for the 2015 run of the VHF and up Spring Sprints. The schedule, sent out by Kent O’Dell, KA2KQM & Mike Metroka, WB8BZK, is as follows:

  • 144 MHz: Monday, 4/13/15 from 7 – 11 PM local
  • 222 MHz: Tuesday, 4/21/15 from 7 – 11 PM local
  • 432 MHz: Wednesday, 4/29/15 from 7 – 11 PM local
  • Microwave, 902 MHz and up: Saturday, 5/2/15 from 8 AM – 1 PM local
  • 50 MHz: Saturday, 5/9/15 from 2300Z until 0300Z Sunday, 5/10/15
